User interface elements are described below:
Enable Network Virtualization
Enables network virtualization when running a scenario. Choose between running Network Virtualization:
For more details, see Per Group vs Per Load Generator.
|Global Settings||Opens the HP Network Virtualization interface for defining the global setting for the virtualization. This includes packet capture information, record method, and IP filters on a global level, applied to all locations. For details, see the relevant third party software documentation.|
|Configure||Opens the HP Network Virtualization interface for setting the virtualization properties and location options. These include imported parameters, latency and packet loss values, and client bandwidth. For details, see the relevant third party software documentation.|
Adds a new location with settings identical to the selected entry.
|Delete||Removes the selected location from the list.|
|Import/Export||Imports or exports network virtualization settings to or from an XML file.|
A list of the locations to be used for network virtualization. To add new location, type in the next available line.
Note: When working the Per Group mode, you cannot modify the virtual locations in this dialog box for the following protocols: Citrix ICA, Java Record/Replay, COM/DCOM and MAPI. For these protocols, modify the locations in the Load Generators dialog box. For details, see Load Generators Dialog Box.
|Apply||Applies all of the network virtualization settings without closing the dialog box.|
You can choose to assign different virtual locations to groups running simultaneously or to assign the same virtual location to each group running on the machine. Selecting the Per Group mode enables you to assign several virtual locations to the various groups available. The Per Load Generator setting applies the same virtual location to each group.
The following protocols do not support the per group mode:
- Citrix ICA
- Java Record Replay
- Java Vuser
- user-defined protocols based on the Protocol SDK
These protocols always run per Load Generator—you can only assign one virtual location for any group running on the machine. You can create scenarios which include a mixture of protocols that support per group mode and protocols that do not support per group mode. In this case, the protocols that support the per group mode are assigned their own virtual location while the protocols that do not support the per group mode are assigned the same virtual location based on the Per Load Generator setting.
