Creating Vuser Scripts - Overview
Creating a Vuser script includes the steps shown below. This topic provides and overview of the first step, creating a Vuser script.
The first step in developing a Vuser script is to create a blank script. For details on how to create a blank Vuser script, see How to Create and Open Vuser Scripts. The contents and structure of the blank Vuser script vary slightly based on the protocol of the script. Therefore, before you create a blank Vuser script, you must know the protocol to use for the script. You can use the Protocol Advisor to help you to select a protocol. The Protocol Advisor scans your application for elements of different protocols and displays a list of the protocols that it detects. For details, see Protocol Advisor Dialog Box. After you create a blank Vuser script, you are ready to perform the next step in the script creation workflow - recording user actions into the script. For details, see Recording.
VuGen enables you to:
- Create or open a script from a template. For task details, see How to Create and Open Vuser Script Templates.
- Open or work with a .zip script. You can unzip or work with a script in .zip format. For task details, see How to Work with .zip Files.
- Open a script stored in Application Lifecycle Management. For more information, see Working with Application Lifecycle Management.
- Use HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) to store and retrieve Vuser scripts, scenarios, and analysis results. You can store scripts in an ALM project and organize the scripts into unique groups. For more information, see Managing Scripts Using ALM - Overview.
